Jessie Duke (who owns Microcosm Distribution and my publishing house, Punch Drunk Press) designed these patches in the name of uniting the various warring factions of the animal rights movement. (From the website description: “Taken from Benjamin Franklin’s famous political cartoon about the disunited state of British American colonies, this patch extends the urgency to the need for unity among animal rights organizations today.” They look really good on hoodies too. Especially the big ones [patches, not big hoodies but I guess that works too.] I’m sure Franklin, as a lover of “low” and rural culture [see Franklin-inspired Americana/frontier fashion in France circa 1776-1785, would be down with that.) You can order those right here. She’s tabling Microcosm Distribution today, tomorrow, and Sunday at the AR National Conference in DC. You should drop by and tell her hello for me.
