Stayed up late packing my novella orders and listening to the first Blanck Mass record on the big ’70s headphones. UNBEKNOWNST to me at the same time across the Atlantic Ocean, the Olympics’ Opening Ceremony was kicking off with music by Blanck Mass (backed by the London Symphony Orchestra) AND a couple songs from Ben’s other band, Fuck Buttons. (Pitchfork has an article up about the whole thing.) Big congrats to my pal Ben for being involved in such a crazy spectacle (directed by Danny Boyle from Trainspotting, no less). My heart swells. Wonderful.
